So Sky's debut album is finally out. And despite recent troubles the singer found herself in, it seems to be quite a success (8.1 on Pitchfork and #8 on iTunes - so far). I'm happy for Sky as I genuinely like her. She may be not perfect, but she works hard trying not to fall into the numerous traps of show-business. Her music is a perfect pop with attitude, and she is one of very few people who can pull off grunge-inspired edgy chic.
You're Not the One
While celebrating Night Time, My Time, let's see some of the Sky's best outfits:
Sky is really good at layering black clothes. It involves lots of fabric mixing (lace, mesh, leather), different lengths, and of course Sky's beloved heavy boots:
One of my favourite Sky looks. I don't even know where to start, it's so wonderfully messy and oldschool, and at the same time super stylish (at least for me):
Some of the stock Ferreira's outfits - chiffon shirts, short schoolgirl skirts, white dresses, peter pan collars all counterbalanced by heavy boots and jackets. I really like how creatively she mixes proportions. Focus on details - shoes and socks can really "make" the outfit. Also, her skirts are really short, but by mixing them with long sleeves or loose blouses she avoids looking, well, cheap:
Classic messy and grunge-y look - oversized checked shirt, oversized band tee, invisible shorts, snapback, and motorcycle boots:
Recreating Sky's style don't forget about her love for denim jackets:
And bright, graphic jumpers. Obviously wore with invisible shorts:
Finally, one of most recent looks. Sorry for the watermark, but I just couldn't help posting it - I love everything about it, and recently I'm going through strong faux-fur phase:
